Dental Technology & Comforts
At East Brunswick Family & Implant Dentistry, your comfort is our number one priority. To ensure that you always have relaxed appointments, we use the most advanced dental technology available today. With it, we are able to consistently provide high-quality, precise, and comfortable care. Our team works hard to stay on the absolute cutting edge of dentistry, and this effort will serve you and your family well every time you walk through our doors.
Nitrous Oxide Sedation
Does going to the dentist make you feel a little nervous? If so, we can help take the edge off using nitrous oxide sedation. Better known as “laughing gas,” nitrous oxide has been used for well over 100 years to calm anxious dental patients, and it is so gentle it can even be used with children. All a patient has to do is breathe in the colorless, odorless gas through a small nasal mask to feel a deep sense of physical relaxation during their appointment. It will stay on the entire time, and once it is removed, a patient will feel normal within a few minutes, enabling them to quickly go back to their day.
This tool allows you to finally see your smile from your dentist’s point of view. With it, we can capture high-resolution images of your teeth and gums and display them on a chairside monitor in real time. You will be able to see your teeth in full detail, and your dentist will use these images to explain what they are seeing and why they are recommending certain treatments. This will finally take some of the mystery out of your dental care so you can always come to see us with peace of mind.
Thanks to digital X-rays, we can now create diagnostic images of the hidden surfaces below your teeth without the need of harsh darkroom chemicals. Digital X-rays can be created much faster, and they also expose our patients (and us!) to 90% LESS radiation. Because the images are entirely digital, they can be easily stored, sent, and displayed on a chairside monitor so your dentist can explain exactly what they are seeing.
CT 3D Cone Beam Scanner
When we need a little more information than a traditional X-ray can provide, we use our CT/Cone Beam Scanner. With it, we can create a fully three-dimensional X-ray image of your teeth, jaw, and other surrounding structures. This will give us an even deeper understanding of your dental health as well as enable us to create precise treatment plans for complicated procedures. Plus, it is just really interesting to see a 3D model of your smile as well!
Soft Tissue Laser
With a soft tissue laser, we are able to perform even the most sensitive dental procedures with relative ease. It is especially useful when it comes to periodontal therapy for gum disease. Using its highly-concentrated beam of light, we can quickly eliminate harmful bacteria from along the gum line as well as painlessly remove infected tissue. The instrument creates very little heat, has no vibration, and even sterilizes as it works, making it one of the most patient-friendly instruments we have.
